I believe that everything happens for a reason, as cliché as that may sound.  It’s kind of hard to swallow, I know, when what’s happening is painful and scary, like breast cancer was for me.  Sure, it’s great to say that you will find blessings even in the most difficult of situations.  In theory, that sounds great. However, in practice, when you’re overwhelmed by the problem(s)….not so easy. 

I’m here to provide a bit of hope and insight on how to flip the switch to the positive side, even when you’re going through a difficult challenge. You can do it.

I went from being diagnosed with breast cancer (the same disease that took my young mom), to having a book I wrote to help cancer patients, placed inside the Gift Bag at the GRAMMY Awards®.  That means that every performer and every presenter at the GRAMMYs ® will have their own copy of my book. People like Jennifer Lopez, Usher, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Antebellum and others will get The Cancer Dancer.  How cool is that?

I’ll share my own breast cancer journey with you and how I was able to turn it around into a beautiful healing journey, where I danced my way through a double mastectomy, one year of chemotherapy (Sacred Juice), four surgeries and more. I also share specific patient-to-patient Video Tips to help patients with their treatment.

My dance with cancer brought me closer to peace than anything ever has. I am not the same person I was before my diagnosis and I am grateful for that. I now savor every moment of every day and make the time to have fun and play. I enjoy life and live with a deep sense of purpose: to give, serve and use what I’ve learned to make a difference in the lives of others.

We have choices in life. We can’t always control the events that take place – but we CAN control how we respond and what we do from that moment on.

For me it was cancer. For you it might be the death of a loved one, the economy, work stresses, a divorce, financial worries or other issues that are getting you down. We all have the power to “flip the switch” and respond in an empowering way to overcome our challenges and live a better life. 

Welcome to your new online community. I hope this site, at the very least, gives you some inspiration and the desire to prove yourself more powerful than the opposing force. I hope you come back often and enjoy what you find on these pages.
